Why Might a Tooth Need Extraction? - Extensive decay
- A severely broken or fractured tooth
- Advanced gum disease
- Dental infection
- A tooth that cannot be predictably restored
- Wisdom tooth problems
- Certain orthodontic or treatment-planning requirements
| Wisdom Tooth Assessment & Extraction Some wisdom teeth erupt normally and cause no problems. Others may be partially erupted, impacted or difficult to keep clean. Problems can include pain, swelling, repeated gum infection, food trapping, decay or damage to a neighbouring tooth. Dr Fred performs suitable wisdom tooth extractions at the clinic. More complex cases - for example because of impaction, root anatomy or proximity to important structures - may be referred to an appropriate practitioner or specialist. |
